Is there on-site parking?

We do not have on-site car parking. However there is an underground car park directly opposite the hotel, situated under Regency Square which charges up to £22 per 24 hours. Alternatively Regency Secure Parking is situated at the rear of the hotel and takes pre-bookings for up to £14 per 24 hours.

What are the check-in and check-out times?

Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is at 11am on the morning of your departure. Should you wish for an earlier arrival or later check out please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate this.

Can I book a specific room? 

Please note that we cannot guarantee specific rooms within a room type. However, we will always try our best to accommodate you if you have a preference.

Is there a hairdryer in the room?

All of our rooms have hairdryers provided.

Are bathrobes provided?

Although we provide towels bathrobes are not currently available.

Does the hotel offer allergy free bedding?

All of our rooms are made up with feather duvets and pillows as standard. Hypoallergenic bedding can be arranged upon request.

Does the hotel have WiFi?

Complimentary WiFi is available throughout the hotel.

Is breakfast included?

Our rates are room only. However, sometimes we do have a special offer on where if you book direct via phone, email or online via our website guests will receive a complimentary breakfast. Click here to view our current special offers.

What time is breakfast served? 

Breakfast is served in our cafe space between 7.30am – 10am Monday to Saturday and 8am – 10am on Sunday. Please advise if you require an early breakfast upon check-in. Breakfast is a homely affair, with local juices, cereals and freshly baked pastries or fresh fruit laid out on the counter. Choose from an a la carte menu where dishes are prepared fresh to order from the open kitchen. ** Please note that sometimes we do receive a ‘mad rush’, especially at weekends, where guests can come down all at once and so there may be a longer waiting time on dishes at peak times.

How far is the hotel from Brighton train station? 

The hotel is approximately a 15 minute walk from Brighton train station. Follow the road straight down from the station exit to the clock tower, turn right at the clock tower and pass Churchill Square shopping centre on your left. Cut through past Footlocker/The Prince of Wales pub and follow the road down onto Clarence Square, take the first left clockwise off of Clarence Square and turn right at the bottom. Take the next cut through past The Regency Tavern and you will find us on the right hand side. View our location and Google maps here.

How close to Brighton city centre is the hotel?

The hotel is situated just a short walk form all the main attractions, shops, restaurants and activities in Brighton. Although close to the centre the hotel is on a quiet square so street noise is minimal.

Are the restaurants and bar open 7 days a week and what are the opening hours?

The Set and Set of Scales restaurants are open Tuesday – Saturday (closed Sunday & Monday). Lunch is served from 12.30 – 3pm and dinner from 6pm – 9.30pm (last food orders). The Cocktail Shack bar is open 7 days a week from 5-11pm on weekdays and until midnight at weekends. Occasionally we host exciting pop-ups and events when the restaurants are closed so keep an eye on our Whats On page.

Are you pet friendly?

Unfortunately we do not offer pet friendly rooms.

Accessibility

We do have a small lift that fits up to 2 guests. The Arty and House rooms are located over 4 floors above ground floor. Our Below Deck rooms are on the lower-ground floor located underneath the restaurant. Please note that the building is Grade II listed and the only entrance to the hotel is via five steps leading to the front door and may not be suitable for those with walking difficulties.

Is there someone available 24 hours a day?

A duty manager is available 24 hours a day.

Are you family friendly?

The restaurants and bars are very popular with guests and locals alike and do take on a party vibe, especially at the weekends, which may not be a suitable environment for young children. Please also note that the building is Grade II listed and some windows are lower than usual with no safety bars. Our balcony rooms have floor to ceiling windows which enables the guest to access the balcony at their own risk. Some may feel that the building may not be particularly well laid out for young children.

Whats the soundproofing like?

The building was built in the 1820’s and as much as we have tried to soundproof the rooms, there is still a bit of noise from room to room. If you are sensitive to noise please let us know and we will do our best to allocate you on one of the top floors. All windows are single-glazed and although we are on a quiet square, there may be some passers by (and seagulls) where we are unable to control their level of noise.

On a final note…

We are not perfect and the building does have its quirks! Some may say that this is part of staying in an old and historic building… we certainly wouldn’t swap it for the world! We are home grown in every way and always strive to ensure that our guests have a most enjoyable stay.
